Commodore Bok Soon Jones 1930-2011

My heart is aching and I am not sure what my world will look like without her out there I so appreciate all your thoughts and prayers they have meant so much to me.  She was #1, passionate about her family, followed by country and then the Elkhorn Yacht club where she spent so much time.  Her world was black and white...you were either right or wrong.  She was the original Yoda, there is no trying...only do or do not.  This photo is of her on the day she took off for that ultimate race. I do love that she left this life sailing.  That morning as HH and I were hiking around Crater Lake I got a text from her (yes my 81 yr old mother has an I-phone) asking me if I wanted a race tee shirt and I text her back asking if she wanted a Crater Lake tee shirt.  She didn't feel well and thought it was the meds she was on and collapsed.  In high drama that only she would appreciated the coast guard came out to "rescue" her...but she was having none of that...to leave this life and meet my dad for their long anticipated around the world sail...well they didn't realize that I just needed a little more time.  I won't be on the blog daily but it is a life line of sorts for me so as i wade through the details of mom's life I will check in with all of you...

  1. I am so sorry about your mom, I lost mine the same way when she was in her 70's, so I know how you feel. Leaving this world, doing what she loved is something that can fill your heart with joy, someday, but for now, my thoughts are with you and your family. She sounds like a wonderful woman.

  7. It doesn't matter how old you are when your Mother passes away. They are supposed to live forever aren't they? Time doesn't lessen the pain but it does help you to accept it. All the best for all that is to come in the next few weeks and months. Lean o your friends and family. they will want o be there for you as will your bloggie friends. Thinking of you.

  15. Hi Anna, I am very sorry for your loss. I am newly in a grieving process too as I lost my Mom on 7/31 also of a heart attack. Losing your mom is not for sissies. I have been surprised by the depth of lose that I feel - un-moored, un-anchored. You and I have only met a couple of times but if you need to speak with someone who understands outside of your family, please reach out. Sometimes it is easier to say what you are feeling to an 'outsider'. Take time to grieve, rest when you are weary and hold on to hope.
